The Medici opened their Normal, Illinois location in 2008, playing a vital role in the revitalization of the uptown commerce district. The expansive 2-story restaurant and event space was designed to maintain the historical charm of the original 1920s structure, but with contemporary touches for the modern-day community.
Our extensive and eclectic menu has evolved throughout the years, reflecting the contributions and creativity of our chefs, family and friends. Everything is made fresh and in-house, including baked goods from our own bakery. The Medici prides itself on having an extensive craft beer list with 32 drafts on tap. We focus on local and small batch beers, many from breweries right here in Bloomington Normal.
Food, drink and gathering spaces span two floors, including two bars, our rooftop patio and a loft space perfect for banquets. The furniture is made from wood grown on the owner’s southwest Wisconsin tree farm. Our signature mulberry tree, however, was found onsite, connecting the current Bloomington Normal community with the Medici roots that span across the Midwest and Europe.
